Tourists!

Wow! Who knew Oxford was such a popular place? The streets are packed with tourists today! You can barely move, it is like the crowds in London! I did manage to get to the Natural History Museum today- it was beautiful! I like the exhibits a great deal but the building itself was absolutely incredible! I did get to see an exhibit on the animals from Alice in Wonderland, since that took place partially in Oxford, my favorite is the Dodo. What an awkward looking bird! I also saw a giant crocodile-sea turtle and bones from dinosaurs.
I met up with some people and we went out to conquer Oxford to no avail. Like I said before the streets were packed! I could barely make it through the maddening crowds! We tried to get into all the little shops but they were pretty full.
I did manage to have my first pasty which is kinda like a calzone but smaller and filled with a potato base. I feel so much more a local after that meal! Exeter does not provide meals for lunch on weekends so the pasty had to do. I met someone who was telling me how great McDonalds is here; I just can't bring myself to try it. I can't imagine it is all that much better than in the states- I could be wrong.
I realized why so many of the younger people are excited to be here: the drinking age here is 18, so they are able to drink nightly- one girl came into breakfast this morning with sunglasses on- it was quite cloudy and especially dark in there--- I'm guessing she had a hard night. Which makes me so glad that there are people closer to my age here!
My Saturday has been pretty relaxing but the best news is, I finally won at solitaire last night! I can feel your excitement! Oh and yes, there was another luggage cart full of drunk people last night but much earlier at 10:30 instead of midnight.
Well its off to try and conquer the economy of the EU, can you tell I am having problems with this one? さようなら
