Day 1 Dublin
Somehow I typed up this great entry about my trip over and such - GONE- I love when I hit the wrong button! So this will be a bit more condensed...
trip over was great- although the plane looked much like a refugee camp with people spreading out all over, sleeping and such. We didn't sleep too much, too much adrenaline coursing through our veins.
We got to the airport early around 7am local time, 2am orlando time. Needless to say we were a bit groggy! Had to store my suitcase so we wouldn't have to lug it to Ireland.
After we finally checked in for our flight to Ireland, passing through security, I asked the man if I needed to remove my laptop from the bag and he replied, " no dear, we do this for a living; not like the states." guess he wasn't too keen on our security in the US!!!
Gatwick is interesting- no assigned gagtes for flights so you sit in the 'lounge' forever waiting to see where you should go. would be ok, but we found out where our flight was going 30 minutes before takeoff and it took 15 minutes to walk to the gate...
Finally got to Dublin and checked into the amazing guesthouese- if you are ever here, check it out! breakfast is incredible too. anyway, we walked around and went to the Hairy Lemon Pub, that's right folks, Hairy Lemon! Just in case you were wondering it has been confirmed that Guiness in Ireland is many times superior to the states.
Won't bore you with more, I crashed at 8:30 when the sun was still up; that's right sun in Ireland- go figure. A vast weather improvement though, I needed a fleece to stay warm. More to follow soon! Cheers!!
